Loving silk taffeta curtains ...

I have seen the light, and you can count me among the converts! I have been called to share the alluring beauty of silk taffeta curtains. Draped from ceiling to floor, the glamour and luxury of silk taffeta is definitely swoon-worthy.

Having just spent some time at our Paris rental apartment, I am reminded of how much beautiful draperies contribute to the overall aesthetic of a space. The apartment's living room curtains in charcoal and ivory stripes complement the bold two-tone decor in the living room (below).

All of the taffeta drapes I've encountered in Paris have been lined with flannel and generously puddle on the floor for added drama.

Taffeta in a pale, blush shade whispers a most feminine charm that I adore.

Why are floor to ceiling windows so rare in our homes stateside? Lots of natural light and sunny yellow curtains are so cheery.

Sure, real silk taffeta is expensive. But, there are ways to achieve the same look for less. The curtains below from Half Price Drapes are a poly taffeta with the same great appearance of silk.

I've already converted my dining room to silk taffeta drapery with curtains in a delicious charcoal shade from Restoration Hardware. Love them!

Now, it's on to the rest of those windows!
