Table the herbs ...

Cooking with fresh herbs is a joy, and dining with nature's bounty is equally fun when herb centerpieces take the spotlight on the table.

These living centerpieces take no skill and little time to create. Plus, they are inexpensive and can be moved to a sunny window for a lasting supply of ingredients in your own kitchen once the dinner party is over.

Herbs are delightfully fragrant, adding to the enjoyment at dinner, and look at home in simple wooden boxes or terra cotta pots.

There is something so relaxing and soothing about the rustic simplicity of herb pots.

If you've read this blog over the last couple of years, you already know that my husband and I host a couple of soirees each year (in the spring and in the fall). They are simple, outdoor gatherings that lend themselves to casual table arrangements.

Our fall soiree celebrates our annual olive harvest (from our small orchard). So, I think I may work in some olive branches along with herbs for this year's centerpieces. Images above via Elizabeth Anne Designs.
