Purple passion ...

Did you know we are in the midst of 'purple' season in Texas? It's true. The native Texas Mountain Laurel trees are blooming everywhere in San Antonio with their heavenly, grape scented flowers.

We're about two weeks away from the full bloom of our Wisteria as well -- enticing man and bee alike with a lavish show of purple flowers and a compelling, delectable fragrance. So, it seems like an apropos occasion to reflect on nature's most luscious shade.

I've put together a little mood board to share a few pics that show off the royal hue beautifully.

My purple mood board with images from: 1) Sfeer Interieur; 2) Pinterest; 3) Linda Chase Associates; 4) Little Blue Deer; 5) Cottage Chic Store; 6) Eclectic Revisited.

I've told you about my genetic predisposition to purple in a previous post. So, my purple passion understandably intensifies in spring as we're surrounded with this alluring shade in nature.

I'm not entirely sure I could handle lilac (above) or grape (below) on such a grand scale, but each of these rooms have a charming personality due to the hard-to-ignore color scheme.

Accessorizing with purple adds just the right touch of the color to make me happy.

Pillows, rugs and fabrics in everything from lavender to eggplant bring out the best in the rooms above and below.

Now, I'll just sniff the 'grape jelly' aroma of our Mountain Laurel trees, sigh at their beauty and await our Wisteria's purple blossoms around March 17 (arriving just like clockwork for St. Patrick's Day.)
