Let it all hang out ...

I admit I've spent some time recently thinking of seaside cabanas when I really had more pressing things to do. But, those daydreaming moments led me to the easy, breezy look of outdoor drapery.

I'm partial to the classic black and white stripes that look so bold and beautiful with surrounding vegetation.

Black and white really appeals to my daydreaming, 'Bridget Bardot on the Riviera' self. These cabana drapes just invite relaxation and a perfectly chilled adult beverage!

I can't say that I've ever given much thought to black sheers, inside or out. My first inclination would be to reserve these curtains for staging a brothel. But, the photo above shows that black sheers can make a lovely statement outdoors and in the nicest of places.

If only we all could have loggias at home that served as outdoor rooms for entertaining. Wishful thinking, I know. But, these spaces look so lovely with draperies gently flowing in the breeze.

Outdoor draperies are so practical to keep the weather out and privacy in. Not all entertainment is to be shared with the neighbors!

Say goodbye to practicality! Sometimes, what you hang outside is more about placing a sophisticated finishing touch, like the obsession-worthy draperies in cocoa colored velvet above. Dramatic ambiance and decadent design in spades!

Canvas and cotton duck can offer an equally beautiful visage wrapped around a terrace. They wear well in the elements and resist fading. Perfect in our hot, Texas sun.
