Work zone ...

I've been working from a home office for over 12 years. Thankfully, I have a dedicated office that has plenty of room for two big L-shaped desks, a conference table, file cabinets, storage armoire, all the necessary technology for me and hubby to conduct business, as well as space for our lovely Chesapeake Bay Retriever (who spends most of the day conducting security checks from our front window).

Mine is a practical office with relatively little planned decor. It has simply evolved with the addition of photos, artwork and memorabilia collected over time. Now, with a new business venture in the works, everything is in a bit of disarray!

So, it's no wonder that I always view other's office photos with a longing for a cohesive design scheme that offers more stylish surroundings.

The office above is filled with oodles of character and charm along with lots of storage space to contain the clutter.

As bright and lovely as these home workspaces (above) are, they would require constant attention to keep paperwork in check. Images via Pinterest (left) and Elle Decor (right).

This is really much closer to a truly functional space with storage solutions and great looks! I love the diffused sunlight and loads of character added with chandeliers and curtains.
