Marble lust ...

Every time I return to the States after a visit to France, I come back with a serious case of marble lust. I'm particularly smitten with the natural stone's presence in the bathroom. Marble floors, walls and vanity tops all imbue the alluring beauty I hope to capture in a future guest bathroom remodel.

It's not likely I'll ever have a bath quite as grand as the one above, but a girl can dream! We're only talking about a little marble for the vanity anyway, right?

Okay, this is what I'm talking about, a traditional bath with marble from head to toe. Stunning!

A contemporary bath clad in warm stone hues has that fabulous Euro chic style.

If I need to cut back on the marble (which is highly likely with my budget), maybe I'll just consider the shower surround, wainscoting, floor and counter top like these Parisian-influenced spaces. Images above via Stone Center (left) and Coco Cozy (right).

One thing I must, must have is a basket weave tile insert in the floor. To die for! And, I may have to save my pennies for a hammered nickle sink. Magnificent!

It would be relatively easy to create my own little, yummy storage unit like the one below. An old piece could find new life with a few coats of griege paint and capped with a remnant slab of Carrara marble. Okay, I'm now on the lookout for a vintage cabinet!

Oooh, love the silver nail head beading!
