Accessorizing for autumn ...

Autumn has such a short lifespan between the end of summer and the start of Christmas decorating. I think it deserves some worthy recognition. So, let's start with some inspirational fall decorating ideas that will take us through the Thanksgiving holidays.

This wheelbarrow of leaves, berries and welcoming gourds sets the tone for a heartwarming reception at the entry.

I like the idea of decorating the foyer with autumn vignettes. It's a perfect place to arrange displays of Indian corn and other seasonal fruits and vegetables.

This is so clever! Wrap some natural twine around a ball of string, add a fallen leaf and a bit of curled wire to a stem placed in the center of the string. Voila! It becomes a rustic accessory for fall.

Of course, if you're handy with a paint brush, you might like to try your hand at decorating real or artificial pumpkins. These from Lolly Jane are designed to express a more contemporary viewpoint. Love them!
