Knock on wood ...

I've previously posted about my farm table fantasies, but every time I come across more rustic wood beauties, I know I must share these photos with you, too.

A simple little, utilitarian, wood table with bare antique chairs may not sound like an impressive design statement, but there is no denying the charm of this enchanting dining space. I can envision a great evening with friends around the table!

Sturdy farm tables (or harvest tables, as some call these workhorses) are true chameleons. While their pedigree never changes, these tables go from primitive to modern with a simple change of accessories.  Dressed casually with mismatched chairs or more formally with upholstered pieces, farm tables are handsome in any design scheme.  Above images via Sweden's home magazine Skona Hem (left) and Eclectic Revisited (right).

If there is a covered terrace, farm tables are perfect for al fresco dining.

Stunning! The farm table above (left) has been stripped and left bare and partnered with beautiful French chairs. Check out the gorgeous chevron parquet flooring, too. Photographed by Ashlee Raubach. At right (above), Cote Maison showcases a black stained wood grouping in a Provencal kitchen.

Kisses ...
