Wedding centerpieces ...

Wedding decorations are so much fun when they can be casual and creative. For my BFF's vintage picnic theme, we scoured miles and miles of Texas for antique pitchers and old crocks to use as rustic wedding centerpieces for the guest tables. Fortunately, our shopping expeditions yielded some great buys.

Canning jars hold corn and birdseed to lift a candle to height.
The fill can be thrown into the yard later to feed the deer and birds.

Vintage picnic cloths were purchased and layered over white tablecloths as a base for our picnic-inspired guest tables. We added a pitcher with fresh summer blooms to each table, with reserved tables having sepia tags attached (which I made by tea-staining new tags and adding old photos) with the guest's name and tied with a raffia bow.

Each table also holds a candle-filled canning jar.

We made hand fans (above left) for the guests to use to beat the summer heat and placed them in a vintage plant stand at the entry to the ceremony site. These were a huge hit as guests picked up their fans for the outdoor event!

Scored! Great watering cans and stools which we used to decorate serving tables.

As dusk fell, candles were lit and strings of lights created a beautiful glow at the vintage picnic celebration.
